Gentle Oils for Eczema-Prone Skin: Topical Application for Soothing Relief

Gentle Oils for Eczema-Prone Skin: Topical Application for Soothing Relief

One of the most frustrating and stressful things for me at the beginning of my son's eczema were the doctor's appointments. Not because I didn't like them, but because of how little interest they showed in helping me.

I remember when they would prescribe topical steroids I would ask them "is there anything else I can do to calm my son's skin?" The answer was always "no"... there was nothing else I could do but apply the steroid creams.

I confess that I would have liked to receive more education from the doctors, I would have liked to feel more supported and understood, but that was not the case.

Fortunately, nowadays education is available to everyone and I took it upon myself to search for the best sources of information about eczema, and although at that time there was not as much information available as there is now, I was able to find valuable information.

Thanks to people who suffered from eczema and tell their experiences or doctors who are dedicated to sharing their findings about eczema, I was able to find information that was gold for me: oils that help relieve eczema skin.

It was probably one of my first discoveries to treat eczema naturally.

I finally started finding information and tips to relieve eczema beyond topical steroids and it didn't stop until I was able to relieve my son's eczema naturally!

Today I'll share with you oils that help relieve the symptoms of any type of eczema by applying them to the skin and also tell you which oil to avoid using topically.

Sunflower oil 🌻

its main component is linoleic acid linoleic acid and this ingredient is good for maintaining a good skin barrier function, it can reduce inflammation and in turn the irritation caused by atopic dermatitis.

Coconut oil 🌴🥥

Virgin coconut oil is rich in lauric acid, caprylic acid and myristic acid, which are fatty acids that can reduce inflammation and irritation caused by atopic dermatitis.
myristic acid; which are fatty acids with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that improve the skin's barrier function.

Calendula oil ✨

Calendula oil is very good for treating sensitive skin and eczema due to its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and healing properties. In addition, compared to other essential oils, calendula oil is generally less likely to cause allergic reactions or skin irritation, making it a safer choice.

Never use olive oil to apply to the skin ✖️

One of its main components, oleic acid, damages the skin causing inflammation and facilitating the penetration of infections and allergens. Instead, incorporate it into your diet, as it offers great health benefits
